Black Screen After Login

⚠️ Warranty Notice: If your computer, laptop, or device is still under warranty, opening the case or attempting internal repairs or upgrades may void that warranty. Manufacturers often require all service to be performed by authorized technicians. Check your warranty status before doing any internal work.

This guide will help you troubleshoot issues where Windows shows a black screen after login. Follow the steps below to identify the cause and restore normal display output.

  • Turn it on and interrupt boot 3 times to enter Recovery Mode.
  • Select “Troubleshoot” → “Advanced options” → “Startup Settings.”
  • Choose “Enable Safe Mode.”

5. Disable Fast Startup

  • Open Control Panel in Safe Mode.
  • Go to “Power Options.”
  • Select “Choose what the power buttons do.”

6. Update or Reinstall Display Drivers

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Expand “Display adapters.”
  • Right‑click your graphics driver and select “Update driver.”
  • If the issue continues, choose “Uninstall device.”
  • Restart the computer to reinstall the driver automatically.

7. Check for Corrupted System Files

  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
