Smartwatch Sync Fixer

Smartwatch Sync Fixer

Works for Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, Fitbit, Garmin and other smartwatches. Work through each step to fix syncing problems.

  • 1What type of sync problem are you having?
    Which smartwatch are you using?
    What is the sync problem?
  • 2Check Bluetooth and phone settings
Is Bluetooth turned on and working on your phone?
Does the companion app have all required permissions?

Check: Phone Settings → Apps → [Watch App] → Permissions → ensure Bluetooth, notifications, and background app refresh are all enabled.

  • 3Restart both devices
    Steps to try:
    • Restart your smartwatch — hold the button until it powers off then back on
    • Restart your phone
    • Open the companion app and try to sync again
    • Keep watch and phone within 1 metre of each other while syncing
Did restarting both devices fix the sync?
  • 4Forget and re-pair the watch

Unpairing and re-pairing refreshes the Bluetooth connection and often resolves persistent sync issues.

Have you tried unpairing and re-pairing the watch?

Go to Bluetooth settings on your phone → find your watch → Forget Device → then re-pair through the companion app.

  • 5Update software and check compatibility
Is the watch firmware up to date?

Update from the companion app — most watches update through their phone app, not directly on the watch.

Is your phone’s OS compatible with the watch?

Check the watch manufacturer’s website for minimum phone OS requirements.
