iPhone Scam Pop-ups

Your iPhone shows scam pop‑ups claiming you have a virus, your device is hacked, or you must “call Apple Support.” These warnings are fake. They come from malicious websites, not your iPhone. Follow these steps to remove them.

1. Close the Pop‑Up

  • Do NOT tap any buttons inside the pop‑up.
  • Swipe up from the bottom → close Safari.

2. Clear Safari History & Website Data

3. Close All Safari Tabs

  • Open Safari → tap the tabs icon.
  • Close all tabs to prevent the pop‑up from returning.

4. Disable JavaScript (Temporary)

  • Go to Settings → Safari → Advanced → JavaScript → turn off.
  • Reopen Safari and close any remaining pop‑ups.
  • Turn JavaScript back on afterward.

5. Remove Suspicious Apps

6. Check for Unknown Profiles

  • Go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.
  • If you see a profile you didn’t install, remove it.

7. Restart the iPhone

  • Hold Side button + Volume button → Slide to power off.
  • Turn it back on after 30 seconds.

8. When to Seek Help

  • Pop‑ups return immediately after clearing Safari data.
  • You entered personal information into a scam page.
  • You installed an app from a pop‑up.

Scam pop‑ups cannot infect your iPhone, but they can trick you into giving away personal information. Clearing Safari data and removing suspicious apps usually fixes the issue.
