iPhone Stuck on Apple Logo

Your iPhone is stuck on the Apple logo and won’t finish booting. This usually happens after an update, restore, or sudden crash. Try these steps to get it working again.

1. Force Restart the iPhone

  • iPhone 8 or newer: Press Volume Up → Volume Down → hold Side button until the Apple logo reappears.
  • iPhone 7 / 7 Plus: Hold Volume Down + Power until the Apple logo reappears.
  • iPhone 6s or older: Hold Home + Power until the Apple logo reappears.

If the phone boots normally afterward, the issue was a temporary boot glitch.

2. Charge the iPhone for 15–20 Minutes

  • A low battery can cause the device to freeze during startup.
  • Use a wall charger, not a computer USB port.

3. Connect to a Computer (Recovery Mode)

  • Connect the iPhone to a Mac or PC.
  • Open Finder (macOS) or iTunes (Windows).
  • Force restart the iPhone but keep holding the buttons until the recovery mode screen appears.
  • Select Update to reinstall iOS without erasing data.

This fixes most cases caused by corrupted system files.

4. Try DFU Mode (Deep Restore)

Use this only if recovery mode fails.

  • Connect the iPhone to a computer.
  • Follow the DFU button sequence for your model.
  • When the screen stays black, the device is in DFU mode.
  • Choose Restore in Finder/iTunes.

Note: DFU mode erases all data unless you have a backup.

5. Check for Hardware Issues

  • Recent drop or impact.
  • Water exposure.
  • Battery or logic board damage.

Hardware faults can prevent the phone from completing the boot process.

6. When to Seek Repair

  • Recovery mode and DFU mode both fail.
  • The phone restarts repeatedly and returns to the Apple logo.
  • The device is not detected by a computer.

If none of these steps work, the issue may be related to the NAND storage, power IC, or other internal components. A technician can diagnose the exact cause.
