Wi‑Fi & Network Problems

If your Android tablet won’t connect to Wi‑Fi, keeps disconnecting, or shows slow internet speeds, follow the steps below. These fixes cover common network issues caused by software glitches, router problems, or incorrect settings.

1. Restart the Tablet and Router

  • Restart the tablet to refresh network settings.
  • Unplug your router for 10–15 seconds, then plug it back in.
  • Wait 1–2 minutes for the router to fully reboot.

2. Toggle Wi‑Fi Off and On

  • Swipe down and turn Wi‑Fi off.
  • Wait 5 seconds, then turn it back on.
  • Reconnect to your network and check the signal strength.

3. Forget and Reconnect to the Network

This clears corrupted connection data.

  • Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Wi‑Fi.
  • Select your Wi‑Fi network.
  • Tap Forget, then reconnect by entering the password.

4. Check Airplane Mode

  • Make sure Airplane Mode is turned off.
  • If it’s on, Wi‑Fi will not connect.

5. Check Router Distance and Interference

  • Move closer to the router to improve signal strength.
  • Avoid thick walls, microwaves, or other electronics that cause interference.
  • Try connecting another device to see if the router is the problem.

6. Check for Network Restrictions

  • Make sure the router isn’t blocking new devices.
  • Check if MAC filtering is enabled on the router.
  • Ensure your Wi‑Fi password is correct and hasn’t changed.

7. Reset Network Settings

This resets Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile network settings.

  • Go to Settings → System → Reset → Reset network settings.
  • Reconnect to your Wi‑Fi network afterward.

8. Check for Software Updates

  • Go to Settings → System → Software Update.
  • Install any available updates — they often fix Wi‑Fi bugs.

9. Disable VPN or Proxy

VPNs can slow down or block Wi‑Fi connections.

  • Turn off any active VPN apps.
  • Check Settings → Network → Advanced for proxy settings.

10. Check for Malware or Problem Apps

  • Uninstall apps that modify network behavior (firewalls, boosters, etc.).
  • Run a trusted antivirus scan if the tablet behaves strangely.

11. Factory Reset the Router (Optional)

If all devices have Wi‑Fi issues:

  • Press and hold the router’s reset button for 5–10 seconds.
  • Reconfigure your Wi‑Fi network afterward.

12. When Hardware Is the Problem

If the tablet still won’t connect, it may have:

  • A damaged Wi‑Fi antenna
  • Internal hardware failure
  • Motherboard issues

In these cases, professional repair may be required.

Tip: If Wi‑Fi works on other devices but not your tablet, the issue is almost always software-related.
