How to Reset Network Settings

Resetting network settings on Android restores all Wi‑Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth configurations to their default state. This is useful when you’re experiencing connection issues, incorrect settings, or persistent network errors.

1. Open the Settings app

You can access Settings from the app drawer or by tapping the gear icon in Quick Settings.

2. Go to System settings

The reset options are located inside the System menu on most Android devices.

  • Scroll down and tap System.
  • Tap Reset options (or Advanced → Reset options on some devices).

3. Select “Reset Wi‑Fi, mobile & Bluetooth”

This option resets all network‑related settings without deleting personal data.

  • Tap Reset Wi‑Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
  • Review what will be reset:
    • Saved Wi‑Fi networks
    • Bluetooth pairings
    • Mobile data settings
    • APN settings

No photos, apps, or personal files are deleted.

4. Confirm the reset

You may be asked to enter your PIN, password, or pattern.

  • Tap Reset settings to confirm.
  • Your phone will perform the reset and return to the previous screen.

The process usually takes less than 10 seconds.

What happens after the reset?

  • You must reconnect to Wi‑Fi networks manually.
  • Bluetooth devices must be paired again.
  • Mobile data settings return to default.
  • VPN settings are removed.

After the reset, most network issues — including Wi‑Fi problems, Bluetooth errors, and mobile data failures — are often resolved.
