Your iPhone won’t connect to Bluetooth devices, keeps disconnecting, or can’t find nearby devices. These steps help fix common Bluetooth issues.
1. Toggle Bluetooth Off and On
- Go to Settings → Bluetooth.
- Turn it off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
2. Restart the iPhone
- Hold Side button + Volume button → Slide to power off.
- Turn it back on after 30 seconds.
3. Restart the Bluetooth Device
- Turn the device off and back on.
- Make sure it’s in pairing mode and not connected to another phone.
4. Forget the Device and Reconnect
- Go to Settings → Bluetooth.
- Tap the “i” next to the device → Forget This Device.
- Pair it again from the list.
5. Move Closer
- Stay within a few feet of the device.
- Avoid walls, metal objects, and interference from other electronics.
6. Reset Network Settings
- Go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings.
- This resets Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular settings (no data loss).
7. Update iOS
- Go to Settings → General → Software Update.
- Updates often fix Bluetooth bugs.
8. Test with Another Device
- Try connecting to a different Bluetooth device.
- If it works, the issue is with the original accessory.
9. When to Seek Repair
- Bluetooth is greyed out in Settings.
- iPhone cannot detect any Bluetooth devices.
- Bluetooth stopped working after a drop or liquid exposure.
If Bluetooth still doesn’t work after these steps, the issue may be related to the antenna or Bluetooth chip. A technician can diagnose the exact cause.
