iPhone Bluetooth Not Discovering Devices

⬅ Back

Your iPhone can’t discover Bluetooth devices, or nearby accessories don’t appear in the list. These steps help fix discovery issues.

1. Turn Bluetooth Off and On

  • Go to Settings → Bluetooth.
  • Turn it off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on.

2. Restart the iPhone

  • Hold Side button + Volume button → Slide to power off.
  • Turn it back on after 30 seconds.

3. Put the Accessory in Pairing Mode

  • Most accessories won’t appear unless they’re in pairing mode.
  • Check the accessory’s manual for how to enter pairing mode.

4. Move Closer

  • Stay within a few feet of the accessory.
  • Avoid walls, metal objects, and interference.

5. Reset Network Settings

  • Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings.
  • This resets Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular settings (no data loss).

6. When to Seek Repair

If discovery still fails, the Bluetooth antenna or chip may need inspection by a technician.
